Get ready for it!

CoastCon is right around the corner!

MGCParanormal.org is excited and ready to once again share what we love to do!  Paranormal Investigation. We'd love to have you drop by our Fan Table at CoastCon!

As the best equipped paranormal investigation team on the Gulf Coast, we're doing our best to educate and inform. We can start with the most basic of concepts, or we can delve into the more technical aspects involved in investigation, or offer some hands-on experience with tools used in the field today. This is why we enjoy the one-on-one contact we have with guests at CoastCon, opportunities for real personal exchange. As our logo states, MGCParanormal remains "Focused on Finding the Truth".

Paranormal is More Than Just Ghost Hunting!

We love to ghost hunt, but we're also excited to share what we've learned about, and are involved in, concerning the other aspects of Paranormal Investigation. We're thrilled and proud to announce we have officially filled out all four corners of our Investigator emblem. Ghosts, Bigfoot, Urban Legends, and UFO's!

We can't wait to share our latest experiences -- as well as the evidence we've captured! -- while handling calls from clients about Bigfoot, and our ensuing Bigfoot Hunts as a result of these calls.

We're also excited to share places we've discovered along the Gulf Coast that carry Paranormal Historical Significance, or Urban Legends, where we've had personal experiences or captured evidence, particularly since these sites are accessible to the public.

We're excited, too, to share our calls about possible UFO encounters, and the unexplainable, multi-sized "circles" left on the same property multiple times. Sorry, this one has no public access, and must remain an Undisclosed Location to protect the privacy of the property owner. But it has opened up an entirely new realm of investigation for MGCParanormal! (Yes, our Super Techs are researching the best field operational Geiger Counters to add to our extensive collection of paranormal investigation equipment!) This equipment is what allows us to capture the best evidence to help our clients, and keeps us working to add new items as they become available.

We were honored to be the Halloween Day guests at SuperTalk Mississipi radio show, 102.1, covering the entire State of Mississippi. We were scheduled for one segment, and we were thrilled and humbled that listener interest and interaction was high enough that we remained on air for a full FOUR segments! So to Dave at SuperTalk Mississippi radio, we send a Super Thank You for the invitation. Looking forward to working with you again! There is a certain overgrown field we agreed would be a great investigation to do together, and MGCP will bring the equipment to catch the knocking on the vehicle! LOL

One more thing.... There have been so many emails, FB messages, and calls concerning joining our group that we will have information available about submitting applications to become an MGCParanormal Investigator!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at CoastCon, March 16th-17th-18th in Biloxi, MS, at Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Highway 90! Please stop by our booth to talk, or even share your experiences. We're always open to new information and always here to help! We'll have sage, and other helpful and interesting items, even some logo'd pieces.

Keep up with the latest on FaceBook!
https://www.facebook.com/mgcparanormal/?ref=bookmarks

As every time before there we'll have something for the kids! (Or even the kids at heart! LOL)

Come see us at CoastCon this year!

Thanks! from The Entire MGCParanormal Team

MGCParanormal is Looking to Add Investigators!

If you have ever wanted to become a Paranormal Investigator, now may be your opportunity to do so. Our case load is growing so that we need to add to the MGCP ranks.

Experience is not necessary. We will train you in equipment, investigative skills and methods, and evidence review. Many places want only experienced individuals, but we're appreciative of the enthusiasm of someone just breaking into the field. It happens to be contagious and downright uplifting!

We do have a few very important things we're looking for in new members, but they are critical to maintaining a smooth working relationship. So here is the pitch:

** If you are ANTI DRAMA, can FOLLOW PREDESIGNATED RULES of conduct becoming an MGCP investigator as well as protect the privacy of our clients, can do occasional OVERNIGHT or FULL WEEKEND hunts -- particularly for out of state sites and ROUGHING IT while searching for Bigfoot -- plus have a true interest in all things paranormal, you may be what we're looking for.

Personality and cooperative attitude a must, as we all work closely together. We have leaders but no prima donnas or divas. While we don't require experience, if you have worked with another paranormal group you MUST FULLY ADAPT to MGCP guidelines. But we are willing to listen to suggestions, so don't be afraid to offer those during group meetings!

Please understand we require a minimum age of 21, background checks, a full interview prior to a team trial investigation and going out into the field, signing of a legally enforceable confidentiality clause, and a 90 day/minimum number of investigations probation period that concludes with a current team vote of acceptance before becoming a full member. We don't mean to sound so hardcore about what we expect, but we are serious about what we do and are extremely careful in ensuring new members are a good meld with the existing group.**

Think you might be interested? We'd love for you to head over to www.MGCParanormal.org and click on the Contact/Inquiries tab and fill out a submission! Interviews typically take no more than an hour, and give you a chance to meet the people you'll be working with. Please don't let the above paragraphs put you off. The why of everything will be explained during your interview, and there truly are reasons for each point mentoned. We may be serious about what we're looking for, but be assured we also know how to have fun!

**Submissions are open until midnight, July 28, 2017. All submissions will receive a response within 24-48 hours. You will be contacted via email shortly after submissions close the 28th to set up a mutually acceptable date and time for your personal interview.

Looking forward to hearing from you and meeting you in person!

Thanks!

SAGING, SMUDGING, CLEANSING, BLESSING...WHAT DOES IT MEAN AND HOW DO YOU DO IT?

SAGING, SMUDGING, CLEANSING, BLESSING...WHAT DOES IT MEAN AND HOW DO YOU DO IT?

We’ve gotten quite a few emails lately asking specifically about saging—or smudging if you prefer. What is it? How is it done? What do you use? What does it accomplish? Can you do it yourself, or must you have a person in the paranormal field do it?

What is saging? Saging is the process of burning sage and directing the smoke into an intended area, or onto yourself or the physical form of another person for cleansing. Often for personal cleansing, two people will work together, taking turns to smudge each other.  One of my sons watched the procedure when someone came to me for personal cleansing.

“Huh," he finally said. "Kinda reminds me of when we buddied up in the Corps to paint each other before combat. We counted on each other to make sure no skin was left exposed to give us away to the enemy. Mutual trust. A good thing. Hoo-ah. Carry on, Mom.”

(Yes, I shake my head a lot. Try not to roll my eyes anymore, because if you’re a proponent of the Law of Averages, they are going to get stuck one day.) And smudging is almost like what my son described. The difference between cammo painting and saging, is that saging removes the negative and unwanted energies instead of covering them up. The similarity is that you trust each other to leave nothing exposed for negativity to cling to.

Sacred sage has a long spiritual history with Native Americans. The burning of sage and directing its smoke over the hands, face, and body is part of many ceremonial traditions. What most people don’t realize is that sage burns an antiseptic smoke! No, it won’t stop the plague, but it does rid the air of common germs.

Sometimes another substance is burned with sage; sage and cedar is a common combination, as is sage and Sweet Grass. Other combinations are used according to the purpose you wish to achieve.

To cleanse a dwelling or business, you begin at the exterior doorway. Make sure to use your smudge materials in a fire safe manner! Make sure you are rested and in a good frame of mind prior to starting, because when done correctly cleansing can take a lot out of you. Light your sage stick (or sage leaves). When they are burning well, gently blow out the flame, taking care not to send any embers out of your shell or bowl. They will smolder from that point on. (If they go out, relight them.)

*Quick Note: (If you don’t have the necessary items, we offer them on our website store, from a deluxe Blessing Kit with a sage bundle, abalone shell ash catcher, tripod stand carved from a single piece of wood to rest or display your shell, and latigo bound dispersing feather, all in a convenient storage container. We also have a basic sage stick and feather combination; or sage by the stick; or individual dispersing feathers. We even have small emergency sage kits, with a quick lighting charcoal tab and loose sage leaves. I’ll post pics and links for you at the end of the blog.)

Starting from the entrance doorway, slowly work in a clockwise movement, covering the perimeters of that entire room, high and low. Do NOT smudge that exterior doorway yet! The purpose is to push any negative energies out, and you want to leave them an exit. Pay attention to push smoke into the high corners of the room as you proceed. If there are closets or permanent cabinetry (kitchen cabinets and drawers; bathroom cabinets and drawers, etc) open them and direct sage smoke inside. Smudge around any windows and connecting doorways. Speak words that denote your Faith. Many recite St. Michael’s prayer in each room as they complete it. Give audible instructions. You don’t have to yell, but be strong and forceful. I usually say, “Anything negative or unclean, you are not welcome here. Only the good and protective may stay. Only positive energy may reside in this place. Anything of an evil nature must leave this place, and leave now, and is not allowed to return!” I believe using your own words carries more meaning or what some call power, so don’t be afraid to speak what is in your heart or on your mind. But if you aren’t comfortable trying this by yourself for the first time—or ever!—it’s perfectly acceptable to call someone in. We all learn skills from each other, and this is no different. Some things we try we never become adept at (like my attempts at oil painting.  No, we won’t discuss it. LOL) So there is no shame or harm in turning what we aren’t comfortable with over to another who is versed in it.

As you finish that room, move to the next, working the entire dwelling in a clockwise motion. As you get back to your starting point, speak your words again. Claim your space as your own and ask for Faith, peace, protection, and love to be the strongest forces dwelling there. As you tell anything unclean, negative, or evil to leave a final time, smudge the exterior doorway, mentally sealing it against everything but good.

If you want to keep negative energy at a minimum, saging and cleansing isn’t something you do one time and forget about it. It’s rather like sweeping your floors clean. It feels wonderful immediately after you do so. But as we go in and out, grains of sand are tracked in, a few here, a few there. If it rains, mud comes in with us. Even opening a door allows dust and even the occasional leaf to drift inside.

Energy is much like the grains of sand, the mud, the dust, the bits of leaf. We pick them up without realizing and carry them home with us. Our friend having marital trouble? When we talk to them to offer comfort, we bring a bit of it away with us. Stresses at work? We bring bits of that worry home. When we care for the ill or infirm, we tend to absorb a bit of their suffering as we try to ease it, and carry it away with us. The accident, the abuse, the grief we witness or share marks us with its energy. Ill will toward us, particularly undeserved ill will, attaches its negativity as well. And like those grains of sand on our floor, it grits and chafes, makes us uncomfortable in our own space. So like sweeping the floor clean, we need to regularly cleanse those accumulated negative, unclean energies from our personal space.

Don’t want to bore you or make you feel like you’re held hostage at your computer or phone screen, so I’ll leave the personal cleansing for another post. But I promise to get to it soon!

Here are those links I promised!
